GRAPE VARIETY: Sangiovese 95% , Colorino 5%
EXPOSURE: South, south-west
TYPE OF SOIL: Clay-loam with rock fragments.
PLANTING DENSITY: 5200 vines /ha.
CULTIVATION SYSTEM: Spurred cordon
HARVEST TIME: harvesting period from mid September to mid October with careful selection of the grapes.
HARVEST METHOD: Mechanical harvesting with selection of the grapes.
PRESSING: Soft pressing and de-stalking.
MACERATION: on the skins for 3 weeks with frequent remontage
FERMENTATION AND AGING: malolactic fermentation and refining in oak barrels and large casks for over a year. Further refining in bottle for at least 6 months.
WINE-TASTING NOTES: Intense ruby red colour, garnet like, scent of plums and ripe berries with floral and spicy notes; of smooth, balanced flavour, intense and persistent, harmonious and elegant.
LONGEVITY: potential aging of 15-20 years
