GRAPE VARIETY: Colorino 100%

EXPOSURE: East – West

TYPE OF SOIL: Loose rich in rock fragments and skeleton.

PLANTING DENSITY: 5000 vines /ha.

CULTIVATION SYSTEM: Capovolto toscano

HARVEST TIME: green harvesting with thinning out of the bunches in the period of August. Selection and harvesting of the grapes in September. Mechanical Harvest.

PRESSING: Soft pressing and de-stalking.

MACERATION: on the skins for at least 20 days with frequent daily remontage.

FERMENTATION AND AGING: alcoholic fermentation with wild yeasts in glazed concrete tanks at 30-32C; malolactic fermentation and aging in french oak barriques for 12 months; further refining in bottle minimum 6 months;

WINE-TASTING NOTES: intense red colour tending to violaceus, hints of very mature forest fruits embellished with hints of cloves, aromatic herbs and sweet violet, the slight presence of oak is perfectly integrated into the scent; the taste is seductive with soft velvety tannin of excellent quality, a balanced warmth with a sweet final of long persistence.

LONGEVITY: potential aging of 15-20 years
